(amino acid) An amino acid found in meat that contributes to heart health. Taurine is considered essential in cats, but dogs can synthesize it from methionine and cystine. Taurine is necessary for normal retinal, neurologic, cardiac, reproductive, immune and platelet function.

A source of vitamin E, an antioxidant that supports the immune system.
